Coopers on Cassowary opened in August 2012 to provide travellers with a spacious, private alternative to a motel room or cabin. Here you can self cater in style or enjoy one of Longreach’s many restaurants and cafes.
The town of Longreach is within the Cooper Creek catchment and from this we draw our name. The cottage is only a short walk from the town centre, railway station and major attractions. The Botanic Walkway, located only metres from the cottage is the ideal place to start your day. It also links the town centre with the Stockmans Hall of Fame and QANTAS museum.
The Thomson River, a five minute drive away, is the perfect spot to wet a line under the shade of a coolibah tree, partake in a river cruise or enjoy a sundowner as the sun sets.
We are passionate about Longreach and western Queensland and have lived in the region for two decades. It is a beautiful region to raise children and makes us proud to be Australian. We hope you enjoy Longreach as much as we do, embrace her vast Mitchell grass plains and take the time to discover her hidden secrets.
